Absences/Illness

Parents must notify the bus company (860 526-5833) if minibus transportation is to be cancelled. Please also call us in the classroom.

Contagious conditions: a child should stay out of school for 24 hours after the symptom of any contagious condition subsides. This includes vomiting, severe coughing, a continually runny nose or if mucus is thick and green, fever, pink eye, contagious rashes. Preschool, we know, is a time of much sickness – we do not want to spread it around if we can avoid it. As a general rule please keep your child at home if a cold/runny nose will make his/her time at school unproductive or require an excessive amount or staff attention.

Toys From Home

Please do not send toys into school, unless it is special transitional toy your child needs to get adjusted.

Snack

Families will be schedule to provide snack for one week for the afternoon and the morning classes- eight snacks for 20-25  children total. Families can except to be snack providers for a total of two weeks during the school year. The snack schedule will be posted in the monthly newsletter, and we will pop a reminder in your child’s backpack well ahead of you scheduled week.

Many children enjoy participating in the planning a preparation of food for their snack week, we find it brings tremendous variety to daily snack and a real sense of pride to the snack provider.
